Dear ALL

Hallo fra Norge! How're you getting on?

I've been to Norway for 4 months. Not everything's so smooth. In these 4 months, I've met so many people and have had so much experience, and also, I've done quite a lot homework. I hope I would have done less but I couldn't let myself be lazy!!!! Before the X'mas holiday, when I received all my grades for the 1st term, I felt so happy that I'd got a 6 for Maths, 5 for Eng speaking, 5 for Norwegian, 4 for Geog... (in Norway, they use grades from 1 to 6 for HW & exams, 6's the best and 1's the opposite). Sadly, I got 3 for my PE. It's the lowest grade among all the subjects... and my Religion and History were only graded as "participated"... my teachers thought I would have participated in the class more if my Norwegian got better.

Though my host family's nice, we've had problems and misunderstanding. My host dad lets me try everything: playing the piano (though I'm poor at... ), cuting up the firewood (with an axe, think about that I'm a girl), drinking, playing driving games... Host mum "learns" me new things, I mean, teaches. But since in Norwegian, "teach" & "learn" 're the same word. They keep saying that "I learn this", "I learn you that". Host mum's taught me to make bread, bun, chicken salad & cakes. Yet, host dad's the best cook in the house. He cooks really good mushrooms (with milk & spices), moose, "grøt" (it's rice with milk, very delicious!) & so many other tasty dishes. Norwegian food's gd but not everything's. My host sisters like "latvis".. It's a kind of sweet that's made from a strong-tasted spice. It's not actually sweet. My friend from HK & Thailand hate it a lot. They think it's "smelly". Talking about my host sisters, one's 18, one's 15 and one's 12. They like necklace, earrings, etc. Sometimes they're not very nice, especially in games. They usually want to take me, don't want me to win . And I've to "learn" myself to be indifferent to victories and be optimistic with failures. One of the girls's ever hiden my clothe on purpose. One of them used her PC while I was trying to sleep. And one of them cheated me 100 when we played the millionnaire. She thought I didn't know but of coz, I pretended. Sometimes they were jealous when host mum or dad be gd to me.For ALL these I blamed my poor Norwegian... hope we'll get along better next yr.

Becoz of my poor Norwegian, I didn't make many friends in school in the first month. Some of them're afraid of me coz they simply don't want to speak in Eng -_-... Once I lost all my classmates in PE lesson. I didn't know where they were and in that lesson I went to the mountain alone. They thought I was stupid, silly girl. I wanted to teach them the games you guys taught me but THEY SIMPLY DON'T PLAY GAMES IN SCHOOL! I've tried to play IQ games with some of the girls. They dealt hard to find out the answer. But they love the trick !!! Hoho!

Slowly and slowly, pp in my class understand that I'm a gd person and they start to get to like me. They've not told me but I could feel it. Sorry, Norwegian're a bit shy to show their feelings.

Becoz I'm 18, I'm studying in the 3rd yr (the last yr of high school). In Norwegian, they have the tradition of being a "russ" (graduate) for the 3rd yr. It's fun to be a russ. I'm a russ but I'm not sure if I suit to be 1. We have a lot parties for the russ (some pp make too much sex in big russ parties). We have clothes, a cap, 500 russ cards (have ur name, address, phone no., ur photo & ur motto on-->> we can give 1 to pp we know). At the end of the school yr, we'll do a lot silly things. I heard like eating 10 hamburgers in 5 minutes; knock on ur teacher's door at 5 o'clock in the morning; scream sth stupid at each lesson.... not of coz, pp usually do it together. Norwegian're not used to silly things... From here, I remember Tony you told me the meaning of fds. With them, you're brave to do any silly things.

By the way, I've been to 2 of the russ parties. The first one was more like a drinking party. Pp drank a lot and danced crazily. Some just sitted and talked. In the second one I've been to last Thu (it's the 3rd russ party), the girls and boys were flirting each other. Even to those who you don't know in the class. They suddenly became so talkative to each other. I was afraid of it. Pp in my class were so different in the party. Most of them have boy/ girl- fd. But the girls sat on another boy's lap in the party. Some smoked and drank. Some ran on the roads. I thought they did it only they wanted to catch other's attention. Why they have to do it for happiness? These parties aren't grant. Why can't we eat happily together and play some games? I'm not sure if I should go to another russ party... as an exchanged student, should I follow them?

About my Norwegian, I'm a bit disappointed coz I thought I could learn it faster. But now, I think the quality's more important than the time. I don't mind how long it takes to attain the quality. Hope it'll be long before I leave. I don't know why, since the 1st day of my X'mas holiday, I suddenly understood quite a lot of my family's conversations. I understood almost everything they said. Maybe it's becoz what they said's those I've learnt. Recently, I'm reading an interesting book in Norwegian. It's called "Min søster Nina er født i Kina" (My sister Nina was born in China). It's about how pp in Norway do to prepare themselves before they adopt a child from China. The book tells a lot about China and it reminds me of sth. For example, it talks about a kind of trousers with a big hole that Chinese babies wear. Also, it reminds me that we bargains a lot when we buy things in mainland China. I felt sad when I read about the child being abandoned by her natural parent and being adopted by foreigners. Before I came to Norway, I didn't know that there were that many Chinese children being adopted. I've met some too. In my class, we have 1 beautiful Chinese girl. She's a sister adopted from China but she's not her natural sister. In my Math class, there's another one. In my host sister (who's 12)'s class, there's 1 and she also has a adopted sister..

Here in this small city of around 6000 population lives quite many foreigners. I'm 1 of the foreigners. There're also some from China, Burma, the Philippines, Poland, Britain (my Eng teacher). I met some Asians (a Burmese girl in my school and pp in the HK restaurant, they're not from HK). Each time when I see them, I feel like we're family. The Burmese girl's sister told me I was always welcome to visit them and that we should take care of each other like brothers and sisters. I felt so impressed. But I know that I'm staying in a Norwegian community, drinking their water and these pp're earning their money. I want to make more Norwegian fds though it's more difficult. Sometimes, I thought I shouldn't much with the Asians but they're so nice to me. They take care of me!!! I'm so grateful but don't know how to show. To the Norwegians, I want to be a good fd. But things're complicated.

Here pp ask me a lot how we celebrate X'mas in HK but I'm afraid I didn't give the best answers. I told them usually we celebrate it in school that we have X'mas party, singing contest, holiday etc. In the family, it depends on whether you're Christian or not. Some family have X'as tree at home and some simply go to restaurants and have turkey. Of coz, some go to the church.

Here, we children have "advents calender" from 1st Dec to the 24th. Every day, there's a small present for me until X'mas. Sometimes it's chocolate, sometimes just a extract from the Bible, sometimes stationary... this yr, I also have a white X'mas! Last last last Sun, we went to the forest and cut a fir tree. We're going to decorate it tomorrow ! X'mas's the biggest festival to most pp here. In the school, they started to put on Santa caps on the 1st Dec.

上面沒有名稱,只有一個陌生電話號碼..

我不知傳來sms的人是誰,
每次我詢問,對方都不會回答..

但我知道是我的朋友或是認識我的人
久不久收到一個,我會回答一兩句

現在有時候我也會傳個sms過去..

那位人兄是誰不重要...
這樣的感覺很好..

不過終有一天我會知道是誰
